UM OLHAR DIVIDIDO ENTRE O HORROR E O FASCÍNIO: A VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA A MULHER EM ALFRED HITCHCOCK, A PARTIR DE VERTIGO, PSYCHO E MARNIE

Resumo: 

O trabalho que se segue pretende investigar a representação da violência contra a mulher enquanto componente fundamental das estratégias narrativas de construção do suspense hitchcoquiano ao longo dos anos 50 e 60. Para tanto, nos propomos à análise de três filmes emblemáticos do período, a saber: Vertigo (1958) Psycho (1960) e Marnie (1964). A geração de angústia no espectador, emoção base para a geração do suspense, localiza-se na dimensão da pulsão escópica, alimentada pela expectativa de que sejam oferecidas cenas nas quais o desejo sádico da audiência é satisfeito por uma configuração cinematográfica que elege, como componente fundamental da narrativa e do prazer do filme, imagens diretamente vinculadas ao padecimento e sofrimento da mulher.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the following study is to analyze the representation of violence against women as a key component of the narrative strategies of suspense in Alfred Hitchcock artwork, over the years 50 and 60. To this end, we propose the analysis of three iconic films of the period: Vertigo (1958) Psycho (1960) and Marnie (1964). The generation of anxiety in the spectator excitement basis for generating suspense, located on the size of the scopic drive, fueled by expectations for
scenes in which the audience's sadistic desire is satisfied by a cinematic setting that elects, as a component fundamental narrative and pleasure of the film images directly linked to the plight and suffering of women.
