LITERATURA INFANTOJUVENIL AFRO-BRASILEIRA: UMA LEITURA DE OS REIZINHOS DE CONGO

Our research holds the African-brazilianness as the main theme and takes as its object of investigation the African-brazilian Children's book named as Os Reizinhos de Congo (2007a), whose author is Edimilson de Almeida Pereira and the illustration is made by Graça Lima. We were theoretically supported by the Aesthetics of Reception, proposed by Iser (1996- 1999), with specificity for the Theory of Aesthetic Effect, in order to apprehend the reading process in this work. Based on this support, we aimed at understanding how this literary work, in its aesthetic and cultural aspects, is characterized as an African-brazilian juvenile literary work. The choice of a research object, which could meet our needs, required readings of other literary works. Thus, we used as reference the titles that have been distributed by the National Program of Library in School (Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola – PNBE) concerning about our studied topic. However, we did not find among the works of PNBE one that could meet our expectations, so, other readings were taken until we get to this referenced work. As criteria for analyzing the book, we decided to understand the textual arrangement and infer the aesthetic experience based on our reading decision-making. Thus, the reading was effective some elements of Iser’s theory were proposed to show such process of reading. The results indicated that the studied literature presents enough elements to be characterized as an African-brazilian work as well as its textual arrangement displays literariness. Due to these results, we propose an initial classification for the works that fit the perspective of children's literature with an African-brazilian theme, such as Os Reizinhos de Congo.

Nossa pesquisa tem como tema a afro-brasilidade e toma como objeto de investigação a obra literária infantojuvenil de temática afro-brasileira Os Reizinhos de Congo (2007a), autoria de Edimilson de Almeida Pereira e ilustração de Graça Lima. Amparamo-nos teoricamente na Estética da Recepção, proposta por Iser (1996, 1999), com especificidade para a Teoria do Efeito Estético, para a depreensão do processo de leitura nessa obra. A partir desse suporte, traçamos como objetivo compreender como ela, em seus aspectos estéticos e culturais, caracteriza-se como literatura infantojuvenil afro-brasileira. A escolha de um objeto de pesquisa, que respondesse ao nosso intuito, demandou leituras de outras obras literárias, para isso, tomamos como referência os títulos distribuídos pelo Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola (PNBE) que versam sobre o tema. Contudo, não encontramos entre as obras do PNBE uma que atendesse às nossas expectativas, fazendo com que outras leituras fossem empreendidas até chegarmos à obra referenciada. Como critérios de análise do livro, buscamos perceber o arranjo textual e depreender a experiência estética, baseada no nosso gesto de leitura. Efetivada a leitura, elencamos alguns pontos da teoria de Iser para mostrar o processo de leitura realizado. Os resultados apontaram que a literatura estudada apresenta elementos suficientes para ser caracterizada como afro-brasileira, bem como o seu arranjo textual exibe literariedade. Em virtude desses resultados, propomos uma classificação inicial para as obras que se enquadrem na perspectiva de literatura infanto-juvenil de temática afrobrasileira, como é o caso de Os Reizinhos de Congo.
